Amrican Wool CouncilFashion, textiles, fibers and yarns have been the connecting threads throughout Elaine’s career. In either staff or consulting positions, she has been a fashion journalist, trend forecaster, promotion director, public relations consultant and market researcher.

In the 1980s, she was consulting fashion forecaster for Celanese Fibers’ menswear and childrenswear services. At that time, seeing a void in the market, she created Phases, the first trend forecasting consultancy to offer slide presentations and trend forecasting Internationa Wool Secretariatfrom the runways of Europe’s burgeoning menswear designers.

Later, Elaine lived in Paris and traveled the globe searching for and forecasting menswear trends as Men’s Fashion Director for the International Wool Secretariat, now known as the Woolmark Company. In that role, she became the first American to participate in the prestigious Première Vision Color Committee and Intercolor global color forecasting groups.

American Wool CouncilLater still, as Promotion and Fashion Director for the American Wool Council, she revamped the organization’s marketing materials, raised the organization’s visibility with manufacturers and retailers, coordinated domestic and overseas promotions, spearheaded and expanded its seasonal fashion forecasting services, and represented the organization as a member of the Color Association of the United States.

Elaine's fashion assignments have taken her to China, Korea, Ghana and most European Union countries.
